Piper Shores is Maine’s first and only nonprofit lifecare retirement community. Offering independent living apartments, cottages and high quality amenities in a spectacular coastal Maine setting. Piper Shores was designed to provide the freedom to pursue an active lifestyle and retirement. It is a Continuing Care Retirement Community with 160 independent living apartments, 20 assisted living units and 40 special care units in a congregate care building with 40 independent living cottages. Tom was the Project Manager for the Piper Shores project from program conception through construction documents. Amenities include (but are not limited to): Indoor Pool with locker rooms,  Exercise Room,  Woodworking Shop,  Café, Library,  Arts & Crafts Room,  Overnight Guest Rooms, Bank,  Music Room, Solarium, Private Dining Room, Formal Dining Rooms, Porch,  Commercial Kitchen, Parlor w/Bar and Commercial Laundry Room.Location: Scarborough ME.

Reminiscent of the great shingle-style down east resorts of Maine, this 127,000 sf continuing care retirement community utilizes twists and turns to maintain human scale at every aspect. The community consists of 45 cottage homes for active adults, 37 independent living apartments, 62 assisted living units, 24 units for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and 38 skilled nursing beds. Each unit has been consciously themed to resonate with the area's traditional down east architectural styles.

Tom’s role as Project manager on this CCRC project was to coordinate the in-house design team with the contractor from Design Development through the Construction Document phase.
