Thomas House, Principal of THA Architects, LLC
Tom House understands the Seacoast.
Not only did he grow up in the area, he has spent more than 26 years in the industry assisting his clients up and down the eastern seaboard. House is the founding Principal of the full service architectural firm, THA Architects, LLC, providing design and planning services located in Stratham, NH.
Tom’s firm was named the 2012 Exeter Area Chamber Business of the Year, and he has been recognized for Outstanding Service by the New Hampshire Chapter of The American Institute of Architects. Tom also understands that someone’s rent or mortgage is the largest portion of their monthly budget.
“Over the years many of us who have grown up and worked in the Greater Seacoast area find ourselves living in distant communities, away from our family, friends and workplace, because of the high cost of housing in the communities where we work,”he said.“Many folks believe that workforce housing is low income housing, when in fact workforce housing is simply affordable housing—affordable housing for our teachers, police officers, firefighters, and others earning a modest wage.”
That is why Tom supports the Workforce Housing Coalition, serving as a member of the Board of Directors and contributing to our annual design charrettes and the fund raising committee.
THA Architects, LLC recently solidified their commitment to the WHC by becoming a Community Builder. They join several other dedicated individuals and organizations donating $1,000.00 or more to advance the Coalition’s housing education and outreach work.
